Copperfield is a Green Neighborhood
Through litter collections, storm drain marking, tree planting, booklet distribution, and other activities, the Friends of Copperfield Nature Trails Group has qualified Copperfield for the City of Austin's Green Neighborhood designation. We were the first neighborhood in Austin to receive this recognition and are actively working to improve and protect the water in our neighborhood ponds and creeks.
The City of Austin Green Neighbor program encourages neighbors to learn how to protect our water so it is available for us and for generations to come. There are many ways you can participate in our Green Neighborhood effort:
- Adopt your street and pick up the litter BEFORE it goes down the drain
- Grow a Green Garden
- Avoid Weed and Feed
- Scoop the Poop
Copperfield neighbors visit City Council to receive the Green Neighborhood Proclamation.
These tiles on the neighborhood storm drains serve as reminders not to dump anything down the storm drains because it drains directly to the creek.
