The Friends of Copperfield Nature Trails is a volunteer group formed to promote and improve the trails, greenbelt, and park surrounding our Copperfield neighborhood in northeast Austin.
8 volunteers spent the morning picking up litter at the Shropshire entrance to Copperfield. Some volunteers headed down to the creekbed to remove a tarp and other debris that accumulated around a fallen tree. Click here to view pictures.
Our redesigned site gives us more space to share pictures, maps, and our volunteer event calendar. If you are an active volunteer, please create an account so that you can record volunteer hours in the group log. If you have any problems with the website, please email contact@copperfieldtrails.org or call 835-2401.
In February, while preparing an application for an Urban Forest Grant a certified arborist volunteered a short session on proper pruning techniques.
Thanks to an Urban Forest Grant from Austin Community Foundation, two ancient oak trees along the woodlands trail in the greenbelt will be professionally pruned by a certified arborist. Click here for before and after pictures.
